Commando Story

Captain Karanvir Dogra, a commando with 9 Para Commandoes of the Indian Army crashes into the Chinese side. Karan is not able to convince the Chinese of his bonafides as they don’t find any wreckage. They feel they can brand him a spy and use this excuse to embarrass the Indian Government. The Indian Government feels that under these circumstances, the Chinese will not accept any proof of Karan having crashed during a routine training so they erase Karan’s army record and simply deny his existence.

Karan escapes from the Chinese side before he can be sentenced and crosses into Himachal Pradesh at the Lepcha border and travels through Kinnaur to reach his base at Pathankot. As Karan crosses the Himachal – Punjab border, he runs into a girl, Simrit who is escaping from Amrit Kanwal Singh’s goons. Amrit Kanwal Singh (a notorious character) wants to marry Simrit for political gains as marriage will lend him some respectability. Karanvir warns the goons to let go off her but they don’t listen and bear the brunt of his pent up anger. Simrit far from being pleased tells Karan that he has created more trouble for her and now he must escort her till she feels safe. Amrit Kanwal waylays them on the Andheria Bridge. Finding himself outnumbered Karanvir jumps off the bridge with Simrit into a fast flowing river which carries them into a forest. Karanvir hears Simrit’s story and promises to help her. He decides to stick to the jungle route and then get out of it once they feel that the heat on Simrit from Amrit Kanwal Singh and his men has died down. Amrit Kanwal Singh on the other hand decides to pursue them.

Now begins a cat and mouse game between Amrit Kanwal, his men and Karan in the forest. Will Karan rise to the occasion and save Simrit and all the people living under a reign of terror unleashed by Amrit Kanwal and his men or will AK74 as Amrit Kanwal is known in the area continue to let lose his reign of terror..

The film directed by Dilip Ghosh, the action thriller produced by Vipul Shah releases in theatres on April 14th 2013.

Casting

Sai Paranjpye, who rewrote the film recognized a similarity between Zafar and Shaikh, "Both Shaikh and Zafar are aristocratic and cultured. And there's a certain masoomiyat (innocence) about them. When my co-writer Renuka and I began to re-write Chashme baddoor for contemporary times, we immediately thought of Ali in Farooq's role."

Telugu & Tamil actor, Siddharth will be stepping into Ravi Baswani's role. Director, David Dhawan stated that it was difficult to cast this role because, "Ravi Baswani is the only member of the cast who is no more and I miss him. Ravi and I were roommates when we were both starting out in our careers. I had to put Ravi in safe hands. I had to cast someone who I knew would do justice to his part."Divyendu Sharma will playing Rakesh Bedi's role in the remake.

Planned release

The film was initially planned for a December 2012 release but it was shifted to February 2013. However, the film’s release was further postponed to April 19. Now the producers have decided to release the film on April 5

Production

Verma first announced plans to direct Aatma in 2012, with a July 2012 announcement confirming that Basu would be performing in the film. Shortly after it was also confirmed that Nawazuddin Siddiqui would be joining her in the film, marking the first time the two actors worked together.Basu has stated that she would "be a fool" to not star in the movie, with Siddiqui remarking that their pairing in the film was "an unusual pairing perhaps because Bipasha is taller, but we shared a beautiful chemistry.Siddiqui further commented that the film is a psychological thriller rather than a horror film,with Basu remarking that the film was "a strong human drama about a mother's maternal instinct and a father's attachment to his child".

Lootera (Hindi: लूटेरा | English: Kind Thief) is an upcoming Bollywood romance drama filmdirected by Vikramaditya Motwane. The film features Ranveer Singh opposite Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. The storyline will be partly inspired by American author O Henry’s short story The Last Leaf. The film is scheduled to release on July 5, 2013.

Premise


Two lovers Raja (Ranveer Singh) and Rani (Sonakshi Sinha) are forbidden by their parents to marry each other, therefore the two elope and get married. Soon enough, the marriage ends up in trouble and they get a divorce. 5 years later, the two meet again, and believe they still love each other. Then Raja realizes that Rani has a rare disease and will soon die, therefore Raja comes up with a plan to sacrifice his life to save Rani.

The movie has been delayed due to Ranveer’s busy schedule and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film

Ranveer Singh’s injury has had a long-term ripple effect on his film Lootera, co-starring Sonakshi Sinha. The producers Phantom Films and Balaji Motion Pictures lost several dates as Ranveer was advised bed rest. With Sonakshi having a packed schedule – she is shooting for Joker, Rowdy Rathore, Dabangg 2 and Son Of Sardar – it was tough to get combination dates again. As a result, Lootera’s shoot got delayed. The film’s release was pushed to February 2013, but then hit a roadblock yet again.

If the film was to release in February, Ranveer would have to promote the movie in January. However, he had already given those dates to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his film Ram Leela, co-starring Kareena Kapoor. Lootera director Vikramaditya Motwane is Bhansali’s protégé and there was no way he would cut in to his mentor’s shooting schedule. The release date has now been pushed again to March 29, 2013 instead. This will give Ranveer ample time to promote Lootera without hampering Bhansali’s schedule.

The unexpected delays need not worry the producers as the film has a lot going for it. It is a period romance by the director of the highly acclaimed Udaan and features the Ranveer-Sonakshi pair for the first time. It will now release during the Easter weekend which is quite a favourable time for movies at the box office.
